1Stream wasn’t built in a corporate boardroom. It was built in an MSP help-desk that hit 38% annual burn and decided enough.
Twenty years later, 1Stream is still the only AI-integrated communications platform built by an MSP, for MSPs, sold exclusively through MSPs.
1Stream was founded by George Bardissi, who ran a Philadelphia-based MSP starting in 2000. After hitting 38% annual help-desk burn from voice vendor management, the team built its own platform. The team split it off and launched bvoip in 2014, then rebranded to 1Stream in 2025, fully retiring the bvoip name in 2026. The company is channel-only, sells exclusively through MSPs, and has been recognized by Frost & Sullivan as a Top 30 North American provider for six consecutive years.
We were running an MSP. Philadelphia-based, all-inclusive program for our clients, everything from endpoint management to compliance to phone systems. Naturally, we picked up vendor management for voice along with everything else.
And every customer was running something different. One was on a hosted PBX, one on Cisco, one on a no-name SIP trunking provider. Every voice ticket required learning a new system. Every escalation meant calling a different vendor support line. Every quarterly review meant reconciling three or four different invoices.
Our help-desk burn rate hit 38% annually. Half of every voice ticket was just figuring out which vendor we were dealing with.
That wasn’t sustainable. We needed a standardized, scalable solution built specifically for the IT/MSP world, and it didn’t exist. Every cloud phone vendor was selling to enterprises and treating MSPs as an afterthought.
So we built our own. Trial and error, lots of late nights. We finally got a recipe that worked for our help desk. Tickets dropped. Vendor calls disappeared. Everything routed into one platform that talked to our PSA.
Then a few colleagues asked if we’d build it for them too.
We were eager for the challenge.
From one MSP’s search for better communications to an AI-integrated platform connecting hundreds of the tools MSPs run every day.
Running an MSP, voice vendor management was eating half the help desk. George went looking for a communications platform built for the way MSPs actually work. Nothing on the market fit.
If no vendor would build it, we would. The first version of bvoip takes shape inside the MSP, designed around integration from the very first line.
bvoip spins out into its own company, channel-only from day one and sold exclusively through MSPs. The model that still defines us today.
The first bvoip event in EMEA. Partners across Europe come on board and the channel starts to go global.
The first event in APAC. Partners now span multiple continents, every one of them an MSP.
The move that set us apart: calls begin logging straight into the PSA. The integration gap every other phone vendor left open, finally closed.
Further global expansion. Private cloud locations across North America, Europe, and Australia with tier-1 carrier peering. Recognition from Frost & Sullivan and CRN follows.
A second generation of PSA integrations: deeper data, more systems, far less manual work for the desk.
The fully automated, AI-powered third generation launches alongside seven AI agents built for MSP workflows. The same year, the rebrand to 1Stream begins.
The bvoip name is fully retired in our twelfth year. 1Stream launches TechRadar, the first of the Radar family and the next chapter of AI-integrated communications for MSPs.
We’ll never sell direct to your customers. The only way an end-client gets 1Stream is through a partner. That’s the entire business model and it isn’t changing.
Every feature ships because a partner asked for it or our internal MSP desk needed it. We don’t build for analyst slides, we build for ticket queues.
Our support team can speak at a high level with your team. 24/7 global coverage with humans on every shift. White-glove onboarding. We don’t put your senior techs through tier-1 scripts.

Most of our team came from the MSP world. Engineering, support, sales, channel, they’ve all sat in your seat.
Plus a global team of engineers, channel managers, support technicians, and partner-success folks. Many of them came from the MSP world themselves.
We hire MSP-veterans, engineers who care about the work, and channel folks who get it. Open roles change frequently.
Five questions that come up about 1Stream's origin, ownership, and channel-only model.
1Stream was founded by George Bardissi, who ran a Philadelphia-based managed service provider before pivoting into communications. The MSP, Bardissi Enterprises, hit 38% annual help-desk burn from voice vendor management. Rather than continue fighting vendors who didn't understand the MSP world, George built his own platform. George split it off from the MSP and launched it as bvoip in 2014, then rebranded it to 1Stream in 2025.
Because 1Stream started inside an MSP, the company knows what it feels like to bring an opportunity to a vendor and watch it get poached by the vendor's direct sales team. 1Stream has no direct sales team. End-clients who try to buy directly are routed to a partner. Channel-only is not a marketing promise, it is the operating model and it isn't changing.
bvoip is the original brand, launched in 2014 as a partner-only voice platform spun out of Bardissi Enterprises. In 2025 the company rebranded to 1Stream to reflect the broader AI-integrated communications platform it had become. Partners commonly see the company referenced as "1Stream" during this transition period.
1Stream is headquartered in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA, where the original MSP that gave rise to the platform was founded. The company operates private cloud infrastructure across eight global locations to serve partners in North America, Europe, and APAC.
1Stream has been recognized for six consecutive years as a Frost & Sullivan Top 30 North American UCaaS / VoIP Provider. The company also received Frost & Sullivan's Entrepreneurial Company of the Year award for hosted IP telephony partner enablement. Both George Bardissi (CEO) and Alec Stanners (EVP of Growth & Partnerships) have been named CRN Channel Chiefs for seven consecutive years, recognizing excellence in channel growth and partner-centric leadership.
