Manage your phone systems from Claude or ChatGPT.
Connect the AI assistant your team already uses to 1Stream and ask about call history, change routing, and look after every client account in plain language.
What is an MCP connector for a phone system?
MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is the open standard AI assistants use to work with outside tools. A phone-system MCP connector lets an assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT look up call data and, when you allow it, change how the system is configured.
1Stream's MCP connector is in beta and available to partners in all regions on all accounts, regardless of plan level. You connect your assistant to your 1Stream account and manage every system you look after by asking, from one place.
Ask your assistant. Let it do the admin.
Examples of what partners can do through the connector today.
Question your call data
Ask structured questions over call history and recordings data, with the assistant doing the filtering.
Investigate a number
Find out whether an outside number is blocked, who it belongs to, and every recent call to or from it.
Change call routing
Create, adjust, and retire call queues, ring groups, and auto attendants, in conversation.
Set up departments and holidays
Set office hours, break times, and routing for each department, or add a holiday to every system you manage in one go.
Manage numbers and trunks
Assign and release direct-dial numbers, manage the trunks that carry them, and maintain outbound dialing and emergency routing.
Handle user admin
Create, update, and remove extensions and their desk phones, or set a colleague's status or a temporary override.
You decide what the assistant can do.
- Three access levels. Read only lets the assistant look things up and run reports without changing anything. Operations adds the support-desk set: health, live calls, queues, logs, availability, block lists, holidays, service restarts, and reboots. Full access covers everything your account can do, including creating and changing configuration.
- Confirmation before changes. Every tool that changes or removes live configuration asks the assistant to confirm the exact action with you first.
- See and revoke connections. Connected assistants appear in your Control Portal with their access level and when they last renewed, and you can disconnect any of them instantly.
- Everything is logged. Actions are recorded in the system's audit log exactly as if a person had made the change.
- Your data stays in your region. Each region has its own service, and an account is always served by the region that hosts it.
